The Role

This role is ideally suited for students undertaking a placement year or recent graduates seeking initial experience in financial markets.

We are looking for a Business Development Intern UK to support the development of EDW’s business activities in the UK market.

Working closely with the Head of Business Development UK, you will contribute to business development initiatives, client relationship management and operational sales activities.

You will support the identification of new business opportunities, help strengthen relationships with existing and potential clients and contribute to the growth of EDW’s services in the UK securitisation market.

The role also offers exposure to the wider European capital markets ecosystem, including developments in securitisation & financial regulation.

Your Impact:

You will support the growth of EDW’s UK activities by assisting with client engagement, business development initiatives and operational sales processes.

Your Tasks:

  • Support the Business Development & Sales Manager in business development activities in the UK market
  • Assist in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and potential clients
  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with clients and market participants
  • Support the onboarding of new customers and assist with client enquiries
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and business case documents
  • Maintain client interactions and sales pipeline information in the CRM system
  • Conduct market and regulatory research related to securitisation and sustainable finance
  • Coordinate with internal teams including product, marketing and data quality
  • Support the organisation of industry events, webinars and conferences

Your skills, Knowledge and Interest:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently studying) in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field
  • Previous internship or initial experience in financial services, consulting or business development is a plus
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a business development and sales environment
  • Strong interest in capital markets, securitisation or financial regulation
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Proactive, motivated and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and spoken English
